Percentage

Introduction: The Fraction whose denominator is 100, is called percentage and rate of percentage is the numerator. It is often expressed by the % symbol. X percent means, x is part of 100 equal parts of an object, it is written as x%. It is clear that x% = x/100.

Example – 25% = 25/100 = ¼

1. Turning Percentage in Variation – To convert a percentage in to a fraction, it is divided by 100.
Such as 16% = 16/100 = 4/25

2. Turning fraction into percentage – To convert a fraction to a percentage, it is multiplied by 100.

Like 3/8 = 3/8 × 100% = 371/2 %
